The Carphone Warehouse – Wireless Store

Small technology in big spaces


Technology is increasingly magical, and we now have the power to do things that were once the preserve of science fiction. But as technology becomes more powerful and more complicated, how do we help people understand the differences and the benefits of new products? This was a key challenge as we designed The Carphone Warehouse’s 2,500 sq ft flagship store.

Dividing the store into products for use ‘at home’ or ‘on the go’, we championed the use of live products that customers could feel, explore and play with and spaces to rest and reflect. We also worked closely with a security manufacturer to develop a new locking system that put live products in customer’s hands, free from bulky locks or cases.

The store has been a resounding success and has many lessons learnt here have informed the blueprint for future stores.
