How connected stories help shoppers understand technology
Technology is fascinating, empowering, rapidly advancing and, to many, utterly bewildering. If the gadgets themselves aren’t complicated enough, when you consider how devices interact, share and connect to each other – then you’ve got a lot of complexity to process. How can retail design make technology less confusing for shoppers? And how can store design educate people, and help them understand the potential of connected devices?
As part of our work with The Carphone Warehouse, we were challenged with finding ways to help shoppers understand the big picture, and to begin seeing how different devices connect and work together.
We decided that putting gadgets and technologies into the context of a story – the story of your life and how you use devices – was a useful approach. So now The Carphone Warehouse customers can see very clearly how content from their tablet computer can be viewed on their 3DTV, or how they can control devices with their phone, or sync messages and meetings between multiple devices.
The full power and potential of technology is now contextualised, and infinitely more appealing.
