Changing the face of funeral care

In recent years I lost my mother and father within three months of each other and a year later Sonia lost her father, and the one thing that still weighs heavily on my mind is that, while the care and service we received from our funeral director was excellent and professional, the experience of walking into the funeral director’s high street store was extremely depressing and not reflective of the warm smiles we received from the staff.

How do you fill a large space with a condensed product range, and take the same design to an extremely small space? We used modular and scalable kit, island tills and the consistent placement of brand messages. With a little creativity, all sizes of store can be packed with potential.

How connected stories help shoppers understand technology

Technology is fascinating, empowering, rapidly advancing and, to many, utterly bewildering. If the gadgets themselves aren’t complicated enough, when you consider how devices interact, share and connect to each other – then you’ve got a lot of complexity to process. How can retail design make technology less confusing for shoppers? And how can store design educate people, and help them understand the potential of connected devices?

Our favorite cuppa

Our favorite tea at the studio is the Aap ki Pasand Tea Company, Masala Chai, a blend of black tea with natural spices Michael pick’s up on his monthly trips to India. They are a small team of tea producers and blenders with an amazing range of teas, after drinking these you really notice the dry back taste of tannin in other teas.

Grow your own

We started to grow our own food three years ago, I have always loved gardening but had never attempted vegetables, now the garden mixes veg with flowers and I often find my creative inspiration comes when outside digging, pruning or tending. Our next studio will definitely have a garden space where any of the team can nurture their own small plot, breath in the air, clear the mind and let the creativity flow.
